I’d lived in India for 19 years but had never seen the Taj Mahal. It had always been on my bucket list but somehow I had never gotten round to visiting it.
My best friends in college and I had been talking about planning a road trip for quite some time now but we had left it at that. We never decided where to go or anything.
One day, in conversation, I said, “We should go see the Taj Mahal”. This was over text, at 2 am in August.
My friends replied saying, “let’s”.
And that was it! By 4 am we were in a car (a total of 5 of us) and by 8 a.m. we were in Agra (from New Delhi).
It was a hot hot day and by the time we finished touring the wonder, it was to sunny to stand still.
We drove back that day with fun memories and joy accompanying our sunburns.
